Volume 1, Issue 1

 WELCOME

Welcome to our fourth grade class in Room at Pride Elementary School. We have a very busy and exciting year in store for us!

I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. My name is Renata Libreros and this will be my first year at Pride Elementary. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida.  I consider myself very fortunate to be among such a professional faculty at Pride Elementary.

I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. Please encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their homework assignments. I will keep you informed of all homework assignments and subjects that are covered in class via this weekly newsletter sent out every Monday. You may also log onto our classroom website to obtain homework assignments. I am constructing the website and will be adding helpful links and other information as well.

Since writing is a focus point during the fourth grade students will have writing homework Monday through Thursday, which will go in their homework writing journals.  They will also be responsible for doing 30 minutes of independent reading every night, which will be recorded on their reading log.

Please feel free to contact me via e-mail at RALibrer@volusia.k12.fl.us for any questions.  Please remember that while students are in school that time is utilized as instructional time.  I will reply in a timely manner during non-instructional hours.
